Goals
of the Greater China Region SIG include:

Helping SIG participants to enjoy the standard
benefits of joining a SIG - information sharing, viewpoint discussion,
experience exchange, collaboration with other SIGs, opportunity for
participation / service / leadership, publication/speaking privileges, etc.
l
Fulfill all requirements set forth by Membership
Services group, such as timely reports, regular meetings, updated sites (e.g. webpage,
SharePoint, member directory), close interaction with HIMSS headquarters,
annual SIG meeting at the national conference, etc.
l
Benefit all stakeholders: Current HIMSS members, potential HIMSS
members, the industry at large (both in

Help HIMSS in many ways: gaining recognition for international
leadership in China healthcare management efforts, drastically increase members
(and therefore membership due revenue - individuals and corporate), publishing
best-of-breed knowledge in a variety of formats (e.g. white papers, books,
magazine articles, websites), faciliate collaboration with existing
organizations (e.g. CHITA, CHIMA), and eventual direct presence in China in the
form of a regional HIMSS chapter.
Proposed Objectives

A goal of establishing the first round of "15
major topics" to educate and prepare all HIMSS US-based professionals.

Future rounds may also be possible - for additional
