RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
- Designed an automated tool that is the key component for entire company's HIPAA assessment consultants. Created it using Visual Basic and Microsoft Excel, which interfaces remotely with Allaire's JRun Java server, loading massive data into MS SQL Server 7.0, to be presented in Windows NT and Internet Information Server (IIS). The tool drastically reduces amount of time the consultants and clients need in order to complete the HIPAA readiness assessment, aggregates critical information from multiple stakeholders in a data-mining approach, covers all of the HIPAA regulation-affected entities (e.g. projects, programs, organization, vendors, partners, identifiers, transactions, codesets, systems, applications, networks, contacts, proprietary data). Completed this tool with minimal assistance and time consumption.
- Served as system administrator for the NIKU HIPAA Assessment system (www.niku.com for more detail), SQL Server 7.0 DBA, NT administrator, inhouse MIS staff for the Atlanta office consultants, and Crystal Reports developer.
- Developed customized HIPAA compliance reports for the largest of all Blue Cross / Blue Shield plans. Used Crystal Report 8.0, tapping into multiple simultaneous MS SQL Server 7.0 ODBC data connections, generating several sub-reports / summaries / grouped lists using intricate VB and CR codes. Single-handedly produced 20+ critical reports in short amount of time with minimal technical assistance. Saved the project from cost overrun and client dissatisfaction, and directly contributed toward the consulting team's ultimate findings and recommendations.
- Created a vendors / competitors / partners database for the company's entire consulting workforce. Lead all designs in ER (entity relationship) diagrams, user identification, technical architecture, implementation alternatives, maintenance plan, multiple beta versions development (by myself), user feedback, and initial data conversion / population. Created this on the quick, pervasive and powerful platform of Access, and shared the resulting HTML interactive pages on the company LAN for broad access from anywhere in the VPN.
- Thoroughly analyzed the market requirements and functional details for an international medical devices company, for its chronic pain internet portal. Designed the technical architecture, identified customer needs, itemized all of the necessary and desirable functions, created a beta site for this site based on ICD-9 diagnostic codes, IASP chronic pain codes, and CPT procedures. Led a team of website programmers to rapidly and systematically create all technical and content details, including site map, features list, testing script, on-site demo environment, code sharing, and accompanying documentation. Achieved the results in several short week's time.
