Hi Larry - guess what happened to me today....  I spoke to the Queen!  And I
shook her hand!  Yes!  As in Queen Elizabeth II of England.  OK this is what
happened.  The Queen visited the "City" today, which is the term we use for
the Financial District in London.  (Kind of like what "Wall Street" is to
NY.)  One of her stops was Merrill Lynch.  She was scheduled to tour our
trading floor and investment banking division.  Anyway - to make a long
story short, as she toured the trading floor, she walked right by my desk -
but totally out of the blue (which she was not supposed to have done), she
stopped at my desk and spoke to me.  Our Chairman and the head of Debt
Market (my big big big boss) were right by her!  Anyway, totally unrehearsed
- I carried on this conversation with the Queen for a few minutes, while the
cameras were flashing away.  She offered her hand to me, which I shook.  She
asked about what I do, why there are Asian accounts here, etc.  I was so
shocked and all I can remember was how flushed my face was!  Anyway - ML PR
department will give me copies of all the photos - and just maybe - one of
them will make it to the ML website or some other promotional materials!
Will send you a copy of the photo of me shaking hands w/ the Queen.  Oh and
my big big big boss came by my desk afterwards and told me I had done a
great job - and that I had "passed the ultimate test for a salesperson".  I
am very proud of myself.  I am going to get tons of copies made - and you
can keep one by your desk to show people that your sister once spoke to the
Queen of England!!!
